Commerce Graphics was formed in 1985 to handle
the commercial aspects of Berenice Abbott's photography and to provide
continuing access to her photographs. The company took its name
from 50 Commerce Street, the site of Abbott's primary studio in New
York's Greenwich Village.
Commerce Graphics represented Arnold Newman from 1988 until
his death in 2006 and now represents the Arnold Newman Estate.
Commerce Graphics arranges for exhibitions
and the sale of both Abbott's and Newman's work to galleries,
institutions and private collectors. The company also maintains
an archive of Abbott's correspondence, a history of articles on her
work, her personal memorabilia, and her cameras.
